Columbus and the Kabala
Housed at the American Library of Congress is one of four original copies of the Columbus Codex. This document records the agreement on conditions before Christopher Columbus left for America. The writer of the historical novel Codex 632, Jose Rodrigues Dos Santo claims that the monogram used by Columbus on the document conceals two names, Salvador Fernando Zarco and Cristobal Colon.
Salvador Fernando Zarco is taken to be the birth name of Columbus and the idea expressed by Dos Santos is that he was a Jew. Whether or not this is true, Columbus was certainly well versed in Jewish mysticism, specifically the Kabala. Besides the Kabalistic signet, another sign indicating he was Jewish is his use of the initials for ‘B’Ezrat Ha Shem,’ or ‘with God’s help’ in letters to his son Diego. The case for a Jewish Columbus appears quite strong on the surface but its important to keep in mind with this utterly astonishing man that nothing is ever quite as it seems.
He does indeed display a strong knowledge of Jewish mysticism, including Jewish chronology but the symbolism he uses in the new world is strongly Christian, not only on the obvious level of place names, but at a deeper, esoteric level as well. Also, Manuel Rosa has shown that he was a member of a latter day order of Templars whose leader was King John II. Columbus, a new discovery has shown, was, without a doubt, acting on behalf of King John II when he sailed on the voyage of discovery. His Christian esoteric bent is also brought to light in this new discovery.
In fact, Columbus may actually have considered himself above religions in the sense they are usually understood. Someone deeply versed in true esotericism would display this tendancy. He seems to have used religious symbolism to communicate as well as for spiritual progress.
The new discovery sheds light on what he was communicating and how he was communicating it. It involves the use of deception to achieve an unheard of level of certainty in the authenticity of the message conveyed by bypassing the forces in history that tend to distort the record in their own favor. I think Columbus was motivated by the strong desire to communicate the truth about his discovery to posterity. Much of the mystery surrounding him can be explained by this. I recommend a closer look at this man and his message. The time would be well spent.
